Emeka Ogboh

Emeka header 2

Emeka Ogboh is an artist whose work explores how we experience the world through the senses. Using sound, taste and smell, he creates immersive installations that draw on memory, place and identity. His practice invites audiences to consider the personal and political forces that shape our understanding of home, migration and belonging.

Working across art, music and food, Ogboh transforms sensory experiences into powerful reflections on globalisation, post-colonial histories and cultural exchange. His soundscapes and brewing projects, often rooted in Lagos or other city environments, evoke the rhythms and stories of everyday life.

In recent years, Ogboh has released two albums: Beyond the Yellow Haze (2021) and 6°30′33.372″N 3°22′0.66″E (2022), expanding his work into music as another way to express memory through sound.

His work has been presented at major exhibitions including documenta 14 (Athens and Kassel), Skulptur Projekte Münster, the Venice Biennale and the Dakar Biennale.

He lives and works between Lagos and Berlin.
